This recent project demonstrates Anson Building Services carpentry and building skills to the full.
As part of the oak doors and architrave project the same client required the pine staircase to be extensively modified. The stairs were fitted with oak spindles and bannisters, purchased by the client, and 3 matching oak doors similarly purchased to be modified to fit under the stairs in order to create cupboard storage areas in 3 sections. The collection of photographs bellow depict the process at each stage. The doors had yet to be oiled by the client in the final pictures, hence the difference in colours.

DURING The spindles, bannister and newel were all replaced in oak however, the newel base cannot be romoved as it forms part of the stairs. This, and the stair side facing the hall, were clad in oak prior to the understairs work commencing.	DURING	DURING

AFTER The client's words "It looks stunning" sums up this project. The storage space beneath the stairs gives ample storage space for the family of 4. When the oak is oiled it will all match with the oak flooring and doors, already fitted.	AFTER	AFTER
